Operation Gairatpur Baas 2008
The idea behind the trip was to enable everyone to find out something of Indian culture.
To help the Baas Educational Trust (BET) to see how they work and to
do some sight seeing in the area.
We were able to make good progress on digging the trenches for the foundations of the school hall despite the best Monsoon rains
for about ten years! We spent two days exploring Delhi (New and old) and two days in Agra where we were able to visit the
Taj Mahal.
Our thanks to Moses for an excellent transport service for our time in India.
You can read more about the school and BET on their web site.
The next stage of the work at the School is the building of an Assembly Hall. Our involvement being in the digging of footings
for the foundations for the hall.
Time was spent at he school for music classes and for afternoon sport (when cloudy so not too hot).
Where is it located?
The school and Tikli Bottom are in the village of Gairatpur Baas about 50Km south of Delhi.
