Weekend Camp
23rd - 25th March 2007

This was a joint weekend away with Scouts from 1st Great Smeaton and 1st Brompton Troops as well as Explorers from the BARNES Unit.
It was a little different to the usual camp as we incorporated taking part in the World Vision 24 hour sponsored famine to raise money for their Zambia project.
This meant we started with the usual sort of activities until lunchtime on Saturday but then after lunch we spent time thinking about why we were taking part in the famine and it was nothing but water* until the family lunchtime on Sunday.

We started Saturday with a walk before breakfast with the beautiful view over Runswick Bay. After breakfast we had a pioneering competition to see which Patrol could make the tallest tower.

Our thanks go to everyone who helped with this weekend and to all those people who sponsored the event.

* The under 12 Scouts had dinner on Saturday evening and did a 12 hour fast.
