District Reception
15th December 2007

On Saturday 15th December Northallerton and District Scouts held a reception at County Hall. The event was to celebrate the successful centenary year scouting worldwide has had and not just in Northallerton and also to thank members of the local community for all their support throughout this year. The reception was held at County Hall by kind permission of Councilor Michael Knaggs Chair NYCC. It was co hosted by Lord Crathorne Lord Lieutenant in his capacity as the Lord Lieutenant and President of North Yorkshire County Scouts.

The guest of honour was The Rt Hon William Hague MP who gave a talk on how scouting today is still as relevant today as it was 100 years ago when Baden Powell founded it.
