The Education System in India

Indian children are taught in their local language (often Hindi) in the Nursery School (LKG and UKG classes) and in the early part of Primay School. In the higher primary classes, secondary and Graduation (University) teaching is in English.

The system has changes little since colonial times and is very much based on individual leanring facts rather than development of thinking and team-working.
Assesment of learning is via end of year exams.
